Kiss Me Not

Chapter 256 - Coronation Day

Cabinet members, representatives from the Church and State were present along with the different leaders coming from other countries.

Those involved in the coronation were required to wear ceremonial uniforms and robes. The royal guards were also present, holding their swords as they waited for the royal family to arrive. They were lining up at the center.

A few representatives from media networks were assigned to cover the coronation ceremony. It was being broadcasted live all over the country, including Country D. BG Entertainment had the exclusive coverage of this coronation in Country D.

The Inauguration of Olivia would be held first, followed by Gavin\'s coronation. Some leaders of the people\'s group were also attending the said event.

The royal family had just arrived at the venue. Brione\'s family and friends were with them. They were guided by the royal servants to their respective seats.

After a while, Olivia and her mother entered the hall. All eyes were on them. Since Olivia was already there, the inauguration ceremony had started.

Olivia marched and passed through the royal guards who were paired up while lining up at the center of the hall. They were raising the swords, crossing the tips of the two swords together to form a triangular shape.

Luo, Mitch, and Berry couldn\'t help but be amazed by what they were witnessing right now.

"Wow, I\'ve never imagined that I would be able to witness a live coronation like this," Luo commented.

"That\'s true. It is like a dream come true," Mitch also shared her sentiments.

Berry bobbed her head vigorously, her eyes roaming around her surroundings. She felt amused while admiring everything. This was a very formal ceremony and the guests were all dressed up extravagantly for this special occasion.

It did not take long when Berry\'s gaze stopped in Will\'s direction. Her lips curled up into a bright smile after seeing Will\'s gorgeous face.

She tried to wave at him, thinking that Will was also looking at her but she was mistaken. Will\'s attention was not focused on her but on the stunning lady who was now passing through the center. It was Olivia Philips, the new Prime Minister of Country B.

The smile on Berry\'s lips disappeared upon noticing the intense gaze Will was giving Olivia. She could see the admiration and affection in his eyes as he looked at her.

\'Don\'t tell me… Will likes Olivia Philips. Does he have feelings for her?\'

Berry\'s mood suddenly changed as she was feeling down. What if her assumption was right? Olivia Philips was on the higher level. She couldn\'t compete with that excellent woman.

Luo and Mitch noticed that Berry was acting strangely. They didn\'t know why she suddenly became quiet. They were about to ask her when someone announced that Olivia would now be taking her oath.

Everyone present in the hall became silent as they listened to Olivia.

"I, Olivia Philips, having been appointed as Prime Minister of Country B, do solemnly swear that I will bear true faith and allegiance to my country as established by law, that I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of our beloved Country B. I will faithfully fulfill my duties and responsibilities as a Prime Minister for the betterment of our nation and for the common good of our people..."

After saying her oath, Olivia left a short message for everyone who supported her appointments. She promised that she would do her best and she would never let them down for trusting her and her capability.

After her speech, Olivia was applauded by everyone, congratulating her and wishing her all the best. They were confident that Olivia would become a great Prime Minister of their country.

A few minutes later, the coronation ceremony followed. King Lucas together with the Archbishop entered the hall. They were accompanied by four royal guards and six people wearing ceremonial robes. Each one of them was holding important objects such as a scroll, a scepter, an orb, a King\'s sword, and the King\'s and Queen\'s crowns.

All of them moved to the front stage wherein the King\'s throne was located. It did not take long when a royal guard announced the arrival of Prince Gavin and his wife, Princess Brione.

All eyes were focused on them as the beautiful husband and wife walked side by side as they approached the center. Mixed emotions could be seen in their eyes as they passed through the royal guards lining up in the center.

Gavin glanced at Brione, giving her a reassuring smile. He could feel that Brione was a little bit nervous just like him. But the two of them tried their best to walk confidently in front of those important people of Country B.

Mitch, Berry, Noah, Luo, and Damiel were watching the couple. All of them were proud of the two people walking at the center. They would be the King and Queen of this Country. Starting today, their lives would change big time.

But no matter what challenges would come their way in this new chapter of their lives, they would be able to handle it as long as they were together.

The moment Gavin and Brione reached the front stage, the coronation started. They kneeled in front of the King and the Archbishop.

The two of them were asked to swear their oaths in front of the people before the Archbishop anointed and blessed them. The King bestowed the sword to Gavin as he swore to uphold the Law of the land and the Church, to rule the kingdom according to the law, and exercise justice with mercy.

After taking their oath, King Lucas placed the crowns on their heads, crowning them as the New King and New Queen of Country B.

The ceremony ended with Gavin giving his speech as he promised to serve his people and their country. Then, the royal family appeared on the balcony of the Derhan Palace, signifying the end of the coronation.
